On 22 September 2009, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon convened a Climate Change Summit in New York to mobilize political will and strengthen momentum for a fair, effective, and ambitious climate deal in Copenhagen this December. Nearly 100 world leaders attended this historic summit.
